Here is a quote from Bill Hull's new resource on discipleship -
"We not only have been saved by grace - but we have been paralyzed by it..."
Dallas Willard quoted by Bill Hull The Complete Book of Discipleship
I do not agree with the above statement because of the definition of grace. Grace means "God's divine influence upon the heart" per John 6:44. That influence always drives us forward just as yeast in dough continues to transform the dough (Matthew 13:33). It is fear that paralizes beleivers and that is because of lack of knowledge of the tactics of Satan the master deceiver. The church has created traditions that do not include the wonder working power of the Holy Spirit to silence Satan and his tactics so be live in fear. Jesus said in John 8:31-32 that the truth sets you free and those whom Christ sets free are free in deed. That incldes freedom from fear.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Actually what he is saying is tongue in cheek. He to believes that grace in divine acting and influence on the heart - he is just playing on the common understanding of grace which means forgiveness of sins and not a changed life as well.
